Basketball Game Preview: Purdue Polytechnic Techies vs. Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles

The Purdue Polytechnic Techies will head out on the road to take on the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Purdue Polytechnic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Purdue Polytechnic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Indianapolis Arsenal Technical 84-17 on Wednesday. The Techies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic beat New Palestine 50-43 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Purdue Polytechnic better keep an eye on Ava Bills. She was instrumental in Guerin Catholic's win, shooting 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Lillian Behrle, who posted nine points and four steals.

Purdue Polytechnic's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.3 points per game. As for Guerin Catholic, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Purdue Polytechnic didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Guerin Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win.
