Sanaii Rich leads a balanced attack to beat Braden River

Recap: Palmetto Tigers vs. Braden River Pirates

The Palmetto Tigers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 51-25 margin over Braden River. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to post seven more assists than your opponent, as Palmetto did.

Palmetto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sanaii Rich, who scored seven points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Zamarria Green, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.

Despite the loss, Braden River saw an underclassman step up: Kelis Mcgrady scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcgrady has scored all season. Emily Dalton was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.

Palmetto has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Braden River, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Palmetto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. Southeast is coming into the match with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Palmetto will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Braden River, they will face off against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Braden River's offense will have their work cut out for them.
