Baseball Recap: Cheektowaga Comes Up Short

Cheektowaga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Pioneer Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on Wednesday.

Cheektowaga saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Horbach, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those doubles were Horbach's first of the season.

Cheektowaga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pioneer, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheektowaga will face off against Maryvale at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pioneer, they will take on East Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
