Baseball Recap: Bacon Academy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Montville typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Bacon Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolves, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted against the Wolves since April 30, 2021.

Bacon Academy got a great performance from Kagan Ruszala as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Eli Chiaverini and Ethan Creutz did most of the damage at the plate: Chiaverini went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Creutz went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Chiaverini has posted since back in May of 2024.

Bacon Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for Montville, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bacon Academy will challenge Plainville at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Montville, they will take on Weston at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
