Baseball Recap: Antioch Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Antioch took on Liberty on Tuesday. The Panthers lost 21-6 to the Lions. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 9, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Nathan Fritzler was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Julian Perez-Bussard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

While Antioch had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
