Flag Football Recap: Highlands Ranch Comes Up Short

Highlands Ranch had lost six straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-11 to make it seven. They had to suffer through an 82-6 loss at the hands of the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles. The Falcons lost against the Golden Eagles in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-0 score last time.

As for Mountain Vista, their record is now 15-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Mountain Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ariana Akey, who threw for 218 yards and seven TDs while completing 89.5% of her passes. Akey also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, defending one pass and snagged three interceptionstwo of which were returned for touchdowns. Peyton Marr was another key passer, throwing for 146 yards and three touchdowns.

Highlands Ranch has already played their next matchup, a 20-12 defeat against Ponderosa on the 7th. Mountain Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
