Volleyball Recap: Panther Creek Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Panther Creek proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Sanger Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since August 28th.

Panther Creek had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17, 15-10.

Auna Wiegand paced Panther Creek's offense, picking up 13 kills. Wiegand got some help from Haliee Irish and her 25 assists. Finally, Kendall Dodd kept Panther Creek's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Panther Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Sanger, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Panther Creek is set to square off against their familiar foe Celina at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sanger will take on rival Van Alstyne at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
