Softball Game Preview: Bloom Blazing Trojan vs. Thornwood Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, Bloom will face off against Thornwood. The Blazing Trojan will venture away from home to take on the Thunderbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Bloom made easy work of Thornwood and carried off a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Blazing Trojan, who have now won 16 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Thornwood's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashley Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Phillips is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Bloom has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Thornwood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7.
