York faced Messalonskee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won six matches in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead York to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isabella Parrotta, who had 11 digs and five aces. Parrotta is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evie Martin, who had 21 digs, 12 kills, and two aces.

Messalonskee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jada Forney, who had four digs and two aces, and Reese Hanscom, who had three digs and one block.

York's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Messalonskee, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. York is set to challenge their familiar foe Greely at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Messalonskee will take on rival Hampden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
