Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary's Saints vs. St. Paul's Crusaders

St. Mary has gone 8-2 against St. Paul recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Saints will challenge the Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Mary's is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Annapolis Area Christian on Tuesday. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, St. Paul's had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Crusaders have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory got St. Mary's back to even at 5-5. As for St. Paul's, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

St. Mary's skirted past St. Paul's 6-5 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
