Recap: Community School of Naples Seahawks vs. IMG Academy Blue Ascenders
The Community School of Naples Seahawks put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat IMG Academy Blue 41-13 at home. The result was nothing new for Community School of Naples, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
When it comes to explaining why IMG Academy Blue lost, one person who can't be blamed is ALEX NEURA. Despite the final result, he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 40 yards and a touchdown. NEURA is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Community School of Naples' win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 IMG Academy Blue and 2-6 Canterbury (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 29.9% over those games). As for IMG Academy Blue, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Community School of Naples will head out on the road to face off against First Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. One thing working in First Baptist Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matchups. IMG Academy Blue will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Southwest Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd.
