DeKalb fell victim to Carroll and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 6-0 to the Chargers. The Barons have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.
Norwell came out on top against Heritage on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Knights put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Knights have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Norwell let Mia Kurtz and Reese Frauhiger run wild. Kurtz got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Frauhiger went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three runs gave Kurtz a new career-high. Leah Werling was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
