Baseball Recap: Astoria Takes a Loss

Astoria lost against Tillamook on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Fishermen took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cheesemakers. The Fishermen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dallas Norris was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Astoria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Tillamook, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Astoria will take on rival Seaside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Tillamook is set to square off against their familiar foe Scappoose at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
