Baseball Recap: Dunbar Takes a Loss

Dunbar extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They lost 16-2 to the ACERO Garcia Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 back in April.

As for ACERO Garcia, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

For ACERO Garcia's part, they got a massive performance out of Isaac Mota, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Mota has posted since back in May of 2024. Sebastian Villegas was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Dunbar will venture away from home to challenge South Shore International at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tars will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mightymen surely won't give up without a fight. As for ACERO Garcia, they will take on Bogan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bengals will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
