Soccer Game Preview: Liberty Common vs. Salida

The Liberty Common Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Salida Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Liberty Common is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over Manual.

Meanwhile, Salida had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it 12 last Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lions a 5-0 shutout.

Salida hit Colorado Springs Christian with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Isaac Sarmiento (2), Jonas Keupper, Grant Schoger, and Hawkin Sather.

Salida's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Liberty Common, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-2.

Liberty Common took their win against Salida in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
