Basketball Recap: Southside Victorious

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Southside ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Hokes Bluff Eagles out 42-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since December 20, 2024.

Southside's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10. As for Hokes Bluff, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 16-6.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Southside Panthers take on the Fort Payne Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hokes Bluff, they will be playing at home against Etowah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
