Softball Recap: Georgetown Visitation Prep Has No Trouble Against Jackson-Reed

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Georgetown Visitation Prep walked away with it. They blew past the Jackson-Reed Tigers 12-2 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Georgetown Visitation Prep got a great performance from Sami Farmer as she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ainsley Kovarik, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucie Touomou, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Georgetown Visitation Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Georgetown Visitation Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Jackson-Reed, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1.
