Eden Christian Academy made easy work of the Steel Valley Ironmen on Monday and carried off a 16-2 victory. Eden Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Noah Emswiler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Christian Watkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacob Janicki was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Eden Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in six consecutive games.

Eden Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Steel Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eden Christian Academy will face off against Sto-Rox at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Steel Valley, they will challenge Bishop Canevin at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ironmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
