Basketball Recap: West Charlotte Beats Berry for Their Fourth Straight Win + How To Watch

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but West Charlotte ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Berry Cardinals by a score of 71-64. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

West Charlotte found their leader in sophomore Kaharri Coleman, who went 9-for-17 en route to 28 points in addition to eight steals and seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Coleman has scored all season. Amen ?AC' Pressley also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Despite the loss, Berry still got an impressive performance from Chris Meriweather, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 19 points. Meriweather has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marcus Goodman, who posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

The victory keeps West Charlotte at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 72.3 points this season. As for Berry, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. West Charlotte will venture away from home to face off against West Mecklenburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Berry, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Rocky River at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Ravens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.14 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
