Volleyball Recap: Verrado Comes Up Short

If Verrado was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Youngker last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vipers fell just short of the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Vipers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Verrado sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 22-25, 18-16.

Verrado's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6. As for Sunrise Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Verrado has already played their next match (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Sunrise Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Ironwood on the 11th.
