Baseball Game Preview: Nevis Tigers vs. Laporte Wildcats

Nevis has gone 9-1 against Laporte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Tigers will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Nevis is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Sebeka, falling 8-1. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Nevis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Lindow, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Laporte and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell 7-2 to the Wolves on Friday.

Laporte dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Nevis, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Nevis took their win against Laporte when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
