Football Game Preview: Mt. Mansfield Cougars vs. U-32 Raiders

The Mt. Mansfield Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the U-32 Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Mansfield has given up an average of 44 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Lyndon Institute, who was ranked 12th at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked 23rd). The Cougars came up short against the Vikings on Saturday, falling 47-21. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask U-32). They blew past North Country Union, posting a 38-6 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

U-32 now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mt. Mansfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Mt. Mansfield couldn't quite get it done against U-32 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 21-9. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
