Basketball Game Preview: Prior Lake Christian Royals vs. Woodcrest Baptist Academy

Having just played yesterday, the Prior Lake Christian Royals will head out on the road to face off against Woodcrest Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Prior Lake Christian is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Liberty Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Eagles and fell 69-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Royals have suffered since December 12, 2024.

Prior Lake Christian might have lost, but man, Elijah Wilson was a machine: he went 9 for 18 en route to 22 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Wilson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Lindsey, who posted eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Woodcrest Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by First Baptist 54-25. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Woodcrest Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Prior Lake Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Prior Lake Christian strolled past Woodcrest Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 73-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Prior Lake Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
