Softball Recap: Northern York Polar Bears vs. Warwick Warriors

Northern York had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 10-6 to make it five. They lost 13-3 to the Warwick Warriors. The Polar Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

As for Warwick, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Warwick, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Warwick's part, Kate Shaak tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Shaak has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emerson Overly was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in June of 2024. Katie Heisey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

As of now, neither Northern York nor Warwick have any future games scheduled.
