Basketball Recap: Southside Victorious

Hatch typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Southside proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 70-58 victory over the Hatch Bobcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 77-72 back in December of 2024.

Southside's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Hatch, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.

Southside and Hatch should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Southside (ranked 99th) will meet Calhoun (ranked 205th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Hatch will take on Greensboro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 146 places (126 vs. 272).
