Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Hamilton Lions were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 63-59 to the Mantachie Mustangs.

Despite the loss, Hamilton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chris Willis posted 32 points. That was a full 54.2% of Hamilton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Seth Burnett, who scored seven points.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Mantachie, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Hamilton has already played their next game, a 64-36 loss against Walnut on the 17th. As for Mantachie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-54 victory against Alcorn Central on the 17th.
