Basketball Recap: Dakota Valley Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Dakota Valley had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lennox Orioles, sneaking past 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since January 5th.

Cameryn Sommervold had an outrageously good game as she went 6 for 8 on her way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Emersen Mead was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Dakota Valley will welcome Beresford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lennox, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Sioux Falls Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
