Baseball Recap: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. Raymond Rangers
Port Gibson was the 4-1 winner over Raymond when they last played one another on February 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Port Gibson Blue Waves came up short against the Raymond Rangers on Thursday, falling 12-4. The Blue Waves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nathan Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Terrance Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Port Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Raymond, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port Gibson will challenge Raymond at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Raymond, they will head out on the road to challenge McLaurin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
