Basketball Recap: Midland Valley Comes Up Short

Midland Valley lost against South Aiken back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Midland Valley Mustangs took a blow against the South Aiken Thoroughbreds, falling 60-32. The Mustangs were down 43-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Midland Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zekenya Eberhart, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bri Hunter, who put up eight points.

South Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tekinia Dixon led the charge by putting up 11 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Epps, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Midland Valley dropped their record down to 5-19 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for South Aiken, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-11.

Midland Valley has already played their next match, a 58-15 loss against North Augusta on the 12th. As for South Aiken, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-53 defeat against Aiken on the 12th.
