Softball Recap: South Stokes Beats Mount Airy for Their Fifth Straight Win

South Stokes came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mount Airy Granite Bears a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Sauras, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

South Stokes pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Mount Airy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, South Stokes will take on Bethany Community at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sauras' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Mount Airy, they will face off against Elkin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
