Poth had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 48-36 win over the Luling Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Pirates: when they faced off against the Eagles back in January, they had to take a 53-52 loss.

Despite the loss, Luling still got an impressive performance from Jaime Gomez, who posted 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Ayden Flores was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Poth pushed their record up to 16-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Luling, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.

Poth will look to defend their home court on Friday against Nixon-Smiley at 6:30 p.m. As for Luling, they will head out on the road to face off against Goliad at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Luling is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
