Monte Vista had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 13-6 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Sanford Mustangs. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Monte Vista got a massive performance out of Judah Howe, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Howe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Azariah Hurtado, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

As for Sanford, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 7-9. Their loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

On Sanford's side, Tyson Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monte Vista beat the Mustangs by a score of 15-0 later that day.
