Basketball Game Preview: Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers vs. Drummond Bulldogs

The Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Drummond Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pond Creek-Hunter has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pond Creek-Hunter took on Cashion on Tuesday. Pond Creek-Hunter was dealt a 56-21 defeat at the hands of Cashion. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Wildcats are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, Drummond lost a heartbreaker to Waukomis when they met back in January of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Drummond was beaten by Waukomis 69-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since November 5, 2024.

Pond Creek-Hunter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Drummond, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Pond Creek-Hunter against Drummond in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 59-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pond Creek-Hunter since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
