Basketball Recap: Erick Morales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Metro Tech over Arizona Lutheran Academy

Metro Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 52-38 bruising from the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Coyotes are ranked 89th).

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erick Morales, who posted eight points and six rebounds. Morales is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Corley, who had four points.

Metro Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.

Metro Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-51 win against Odyssey Institute on the 4th. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 44-34 victory against Northwest Christian on the 3rd.
