Recap: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Meeker Cowboys
The Cedaredge Bruins were the 53-38 winner over the Meeker Cowboys when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cedaredge fell 61-49 to Meeker on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Cedaredge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Meeker is ranked 86th).
Cedaredge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Maxey, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Maxey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Brooks, who scored 13 points.
Cedaredge's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Meeker, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedaredge will stay at home for another game and welcome Olathe at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Meeker will take on Vail Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
