Baseball Recap: El Camino Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for El Camino's offense. They fell just short of the San Pasqual Golden Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Zane Nordquist put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

El Camino has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.25 runs. As for San Pasqual, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: San Pasqual beat El Camino by a score of 11-5 on Thursday.
