Recap: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Rocklin Thunder
The Del Oro Golden Eagles and the Rocklin Thunder squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Del Oro Golden Eagles had to settle for second. Del Oro took a serious blow against Rocklin, falling 35-8. Del Oro's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Caden Pinnick threw for 145 yards on 12 of 21 attempts. Beaux Sauve was his top target, picking up 65 receiving yards.
Rocklin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Derek Keeley led the charge by rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Keeley was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Rafi Merino also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Del Oro's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Rocklin, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Del Oro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rocklin will square off against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. St. Mary's is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
