Basketball Game Preview: Soldotna Stars vs. Grace Christian Grizzlies

The Soldotna Stars will square off against the Grace Christian Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Soldotna is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Wasilla on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Soldotna was beaten by Wasilla 63-19. The Stars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.

Meanwhile, Grace Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 64-25. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 23 points or more this season.

Grace Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Soldotna, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Soldotna was taken down by Grace Christian 55-19 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Soldotna avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
