Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last seven times Independence and Mulvane had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bulldogs took a hard 72-54 fall against the Wildcats on Saturday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mulvane, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

Independence and Mulvane will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bulldogs are set to challenge their familiar foe Labette County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mulvane will square off against rival Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
