Baseball Recap: Rock Creek Academy Lions vs. West Washington Senators
Rock Creek Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-7 to make it five. They came up short against the West Washington Senators, falling 20-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 18-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
As for West Washington, the win keeps they at an undefeated 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.4 runs this season.
For West Washington's part, Brady Rosenbaum and Eli Haley were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Rosenbaum pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Haley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At the plate, Rosenbaum went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Haley went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Looking ahead, Rock Creek Academy will head out to square off against Shawe Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Hilltoppers at the right time seeing as the Hilltoppers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for West Washington, they will welcome Lanesville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
