Soccer Game Preview: Shadow Ridge vs. Sierra Linda

Shadow Ridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Sierra Linda is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Shadow Ridge Stallions will host the Sierra Linda Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Shadow Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Valley Vista an 8-0 shutout on Friday. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Monsoon recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Sierra Linda hasn't lost a match since January 21st, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Glendale. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 149th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sierra Linda is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those 12 games. As for Shadow Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5-2.
