Softball Recap: Summersville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Couch last Monday, Summersville came back down to earth. Summersville lost 14-6 to Licking on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Summersville in their meetings with Licking: they've now lost five in a row.

Kaylin Heiney made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Havens, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Summersville now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Licking, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summersville will host Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Licking, they will welcome Ava at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
