Basketball Recap: Cedar Bluff Comes Up Short

Cedar Bluff suffered their biggest defeat since January 30th on Monday. They lost 71-49 to the Spring Garden Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Panthers are ranked 72nd).

Cedar Bluff's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Spring Garden, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Cedar Bluff and Wadley will compete for holiday cheer at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Garden, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Springville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Garden knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Springville likes a good challenge.
