Basketball Game Preview: George Walton Academy Bulldogs vs. Brookstone Cougars

The George Walton Academy Bulldogs will take on the Brookstone Cougars in a tournament on Friday. George Walton Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.

Last Friday, George Walton Academy lost to Athens Christian at home by a 61-44 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 399th, while the Eagles are ranked 136th).

Jaylen Alston-Taylor put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted nine points and seven rebounds. William Ferguson was another key player, putting up three points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Brookstone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Spencer, falling 66-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since February 15th.

George Walton Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Brookstone, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
