Basketball Recap: Kaylee Christy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Riverside over Nyssa

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nyssa Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 35-30 back in January.

Riverside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaylee Christy, who posted two points and 35 boards. The dominant performance gave Christy a new career-high in rebounds. Deisy Zavala was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Nyssa, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Riverside will take on McLoughlin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nyssa, they will venture away from home to challenge Jordan Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
