Basketball Game Preview: Mountain House Mustangs vs. Sierra Timberwolves

The Mountain House Mustangs will take on the Sierra Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain House knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Sierra likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Mountain House earned a 58-51 win over Manteca. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Buffaloes are ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mountain House can attribute much of their success to Coldin Parker, who posted 22 points along with seven boards and four steals, and Jordan Williams, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Pinn, who had six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sierra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 59-35 to East Union.

Mountain House's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Everything came up roses for Mountain House against Sierra in their previous matchup last Wednesday, as the squad secured a 71-42 win. Will Mountain House repeat their success, or does Sierra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
