Softball Game Preview: Loogootee Lions vs. White River Valley Wolverines

The Loogootee Lions will head out on the road to square off against the White River Valley Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Loogootee and six for White River Valley.

Loogootee came up short against Linton-Stockton on Tuesday, falling 10-4.

Brynn Lengacher and Breanna Courter did some serious damage despite the final result: Lengacher went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Courter went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, White River Valley lost 20-1 to Owen Valley on Monday.

White River Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Pierce, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

White River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Loogootee, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Loogootee skirted past White River Valley 10-9 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
