Orting beats Steilacoom for their fourth straight win

Recap: Orting Cardinals vs. Steilacoom Sentinels

The Orting Cardinals had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 44-14 win over Steilacoom. The result was nothing new for Orting, who have now won four matches by 28 points or more so far this season.

Orting's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson McCall led the charge by rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also picking up 89 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Brock Armstrong, who gained 92 total yards and two touchdowns.

Orting's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Steilacoom, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orting will take on Clover Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clover Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Orting is ranked 85th). As for Steilacoom, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Fife at 7:00 p.m. Fife is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
