Lake City lost to Lewiston back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Lake City had just enough and edged out Lewiston 3-2. That's two games straight that the Timberwolves have won by just one run.

Maverick Lanigan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jack Pierce was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Lake City and bumps their season record up to 2-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Lewiston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Lake City will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lewiston: the pair will be back at it again later today.
