Basketball Recap: Smithson Valley Rangers vs. Boerne Greyhounds
Smithson Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Boerne Greyhounds, falling 64-26. The Rangers lost against the Greyhounds in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 53-38 score last time.
Smithson Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabelle DiMery, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Lindner, who had six points.
Smithson Valley's record now sits at 7-13. As for Boerne, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithson Valley will head out to challenge Pieper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Boerne, they will head out on the road to square off against Alamo Heights at 6:30 p.m. on December 17th. Alamo Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Boerne likes a good challenge.
